The Olympic Torch

Dear Family, friends, Lions and supporters
I apologies to anyone receiving this email, who would not be interested, but having been asked by so many people where and when am I carrying The Olympic Torch, I am sending this email to everyone on my contact list, and sorry if it is intrusive.
I will be carrying the Torch on Tuesday 17th July along Hastings Seafront (A259 Marina), between Undercliff and The Azur, at 6:20pm I would love to see as many friends as possible, and try to acknowledge you all.
Arrive in good time (before 6pm) to be ready for the advance convoy, and best to stand on the North (Land side) of the road for the best view. Parking can be either on the promenade Car Park, if earlier enough, or in roads behind Royal Victoria Hotel. There will be a rolling road closure on A259 during this time. The A259 will be closed between The Pier and Old Town from 2:30pm
For those who cannot make it, I believe that it will be on local BBC Television, and also on their website as a continuous Feed.
I will carry The Torch with pride, and representing the Hastings Lions Club, and all those who have taken part or supported The Hastings Half Marathon and Hastings Marathon over the years.
Best wishes and take care, and see you on the 17th July.

Eric Hardwick M.B.E.
Race director
